About Me

I’m Ashley Schock, interior designer and founder of Simply Beautiful Living.

Through my work, I help people express their own personal story throughout their home, creating authentic spaces that reflect their essence while remaining elegantly liveable — the perfect space in which to entertain, relax, and create lasting memories.

I first developed my eye for design through working in television production for an NBC affiliate in Honolulu, Hawaii. As every shot was designed to convey a specific message, I developed a keen eye for detail and cohesiveness, learning how to create different moods and styles through playing with light, color, texture, decor, placement, and furnishings. 

I left television after the birth of my daughter and became a Realtor in order to spend more time with her. While working for a luxury brokerage, I further refined my design skills through decorating and staging upscale homes — although my own lifestyle was far from upscale.

I realized that while luxury lifestyles and magazine-spread furnishings can be aspirational, the true essence of a beautiful home isn’t about how much you spent on its decor. It’s about the way that it makes you feel when you step through the door.

In other words, connection outshines consumption.

Over the past 20 years, my approach to design has become more holistic, emphasizing not just aesthetics but the need to be mindful of emotional, energetic, and environmental needs — to create a space that not only looks good but feels right, whether you’re downsizing, upsizing, or just entering into a new phase in your life.

There’s a certain magic that happens when people feel a strong connection to their space. I work with clients who are less interested in having their house look like a showroom, and more interested in creating a haven where they feel supported, joyful, and completely at home. The wonder on their faces when they first experience their new space is my favorite part of my work.
